HANZIWORKBOOK presents an algorithm backed by our interpretation of linguistic and neurolinguistic research concerning effective learning of new concepts. It's an algorithm for learning chinese characters, not memorizing them.
We did many attempts and mistakes. We corrected and attempted more until we got it crystal clear, effective and compact.
You will decompose and analyse new characters. You will see underlying structure and overarching logic between them.
Going step by step, involving your creativity and emotions, you will create not one but many points of reliance for thorough learning of chinese characters.
And, maybe, you'll drop memorization altogether.
Here we write the character into the main square. You can use any of two sizes for writing. Big outer one will do for brush-pens or fountain pen with M+ sized nib. The smaller one is for more common writing instruments. Here, focus and inspiration are of most importance. We remember that any learning is more effective when there's emotion involved.
Now we determine the type of structure that the character uses and mark it in structure type table. You can use any way of marking you like.
We write down the character's pronunciation and definition (or, multiple ones). For pronunciation, you can use a phonetic system you're familiar with.
Here we fill in the stroke order table. As usual, you write the character one correct stroke at a time.
We decompose the character into coherent elements. You can make notes when necessary, this is your HANZIWORKBOOK after all.
Now we dig into our character memory (or the internet) to find similar-looking and similar-sounding characters, scribing our findings into these fields.
This mini-story (that you are an author of) will help your brain to create much more synaptic connections for our character.
Here, we construct and write down some example sentences with our new character. Doing that, you should remember about the importance of being truly involved while learning.
At the end of our work, we practise to get the feel of writing the character many times around different other characters. You should strive for this process to not become dull. Try your hieroglyphic character writing mettle.
